Nature has always been one of my greatest sources of inspiration. It serves as a mirror to the human condition and a window into the sublime. That’s why I was thrilled to introduce to my Autumn 2024 nature writing courses, An Introduction to Nature Poetry and Ecopoetics. In this course, I invited students to explore the rich tradition of nature poetry while developing their own voice as poets deeply attuned to the natural world.
My guests were acclaimed poet American Ross Gay, ecopoetic scholar Tarn MacArthur, and award-winning British poet Polly Atkin.
I am teaching it again this spring alongside a Nature Poetry and Ecopoetics Level 2 course.
